The Sunshine Coast: Home to pristine beaches, picturesque countryside and NO GOOD MAKEUP STORES! Seriously, no MAC, no Mecca, not even a David Jones! Whilst it’s easy to see how beautiful this place is, it’s not easy to get beautiful cosmetics! There is only one thing that keeps me sane living here- it’s not the gorgeous beaches, it’s not the breathtaking hinterland, it’s not even the endless array of amazing cafe’s (although the Velo Project is so quaint and trendy it makes me want to grow a beard and adorn a floral arrangement)- it’s mecca.com.au.

That’s right. For serious makeup addicts like us, we need to know when we are going to get our next fix. And luckily enough, Mrs Mecca will deliver it right to my door the next day! I can spend hours with her online and it’s like I’m there in store. With every click comes a new exciting prospect- will this item get added to my cart? Usually, yes. She offers me boutique brands and makes me feel just about as fancy as Iggy. And with her third price drop in as many years, nothing could make me love her more. Shipping is complimentary if you spend over $75 (when would you not??), she remembers my name, and emails me to offer me special things she knows I will like. I’m even a part of her exclusive club, the Beauty Loop, which according to yearly spend offers me extras, and even a birthday gift! What more could I want in a….best friend?? Too far??

Mecca offers The Ballerina Bride’s preferred brands such as Hourglass, Nars and Stila, plus many more we haven’t even got our manicured claws into just yet! And not only do they have makeup, but skincare, haircare and fragrances. Seriously, is there anything more we could want? How about free stuff? Mrs Mecca has it sorted- you get to select free samples when you check out so you can try some of the other deliciousness on offer!

So I started writing this blog complaining that there were no good places to shop for makeup on the Sunshine Coast, and while I maintain my stance (NP Set from Big W does not constitute ‘good’), I am finishing grateful! Grateful that I have Mrs Mecca in my life, grateful for express post and grateful that I can shop for makeup from my couch/bed/kitchen/bathroom?!- from myiPhone/Macbook/iMac/iPad without actually having to wear makeup! Ironic? Amen sister!
